You won't get your deposit back

Rented a flat from them, got a job in another province, gave 30 days notice due to a new job offer in another province.. According to them I was supposed to turn down the offer so I can be able to give 60 days notice ?.. How when consumer protection act says for 20 days notice is enough for a landlord to get a new tenant? I guess their laws supercede cpa acts.. And the owner is so rude ???you don't wanna mess with her.. I paid R7900 deposit and only got R1750, no one bothered to explain why... They did not even avail themselves for exit inspection.. So unprofessional ??
