Refusing to refund my deposit
I gave 30 days notice to vacate the unit in September 2024, 5 days later I received a response that I should give 2 months as per lease agreement. I informed the agent that there is a potential tenant who is willing to move in 1st of October who can take over so there won't be any rental loss, the agent ignored me.
I requested for an out inspection since i moved to a biggerapartment on the same complex, she still ignored me.
On 1st of November I paid my rental to honor the clause of the lease agreement even though I already vacated the unit.
Mid November the potential tenant moved into the unit and the agent informed me that they will charge him pro-rata. Since there was a tenant occupying the unit, I requested for a full statement including the deposit interest accumulated on the interest bearing account.
I did not receive the statement and I was informed that the deposit is not kept on interest bearing account.
On the 5th of December I requested for my deposit refund, and was requested to email my proof of banking details which I did.
A month later I have not received my refund, I called Retha Marais the agent and she started telling me that she has personal problems.
Since I terminated my lease agreement, everytime I try to contact Retha she tells me that she has personal problems. I've been very understanding but right now it's getting out of hand. She ignores my emails, it's clear that she's giving me a run around instead of processing the refund.

Is CRC PROPERTY MANAGEMENT a one man's show? If Retha is dealing with her problems can't her colleagues take over.
