Wrong prices shown on shelves cannot be changed by the teller/cashiers

To whom it may concern,

My daughter and I went to crazy plastics on the 26/10/2022 @ 17:30pm. We went there if you had stock of the Dragon energy drink 6 packs, as I have purchased it before for someone who has requested it.

I greeted and spoke to Monique when we walked in and saw her there. I enquired if there is stock of the dragon, of which there was. Monique then told me that there was a special / promotion which started that day. Paper placed stated DRAGON ASSORTED 500ML 6PK - GET 3 R99.99

Monique helped to placed the stock into my trolley, went to the cashier to pay. Total came up to R799.99 which was not correct as the special was 3 x 500ML 6 PK'S FOR R99.99. Error on the promotional sign placed by the items on Promotion printed by staff who did not double check before sticking them to the shelf!!

Monique told Wendy that she printed the wrong promo price. Wendy was adamant that she was not the one that printed the promo price, it was someone else that printed them, she kept telling Monique multiple times.

Monique then told us that she could not over-ride the price, nor could she give us a discount due to the promotion.

By Law the client is supposed to get the price shown on the shelf, if there was an error made it was on the suppliers (Crazy plastics) side, not the customer.

We left the items the amount we were going to purchase, as we could get 4x 500ML 6pack's cheaper than the promo price of 3x 500ml 6Pk for R199.99 - which was the price that the items were for.

Perhaps better training as well as honesty from your staff would prove more efficient, as they should have doubled checked the promo prices before putting them up on the shelf...

And also in cases such as this, Managers of the store should be able to override or allowed to pass discount when the wrong prices have been put on shelves.

Price shown on the shelf is what the customer is supposed to get by law.
