I regret buying a property from Craft Homes Developers.
No planning was done when building parking bays. We were told that we are going to have additional parking for visitors in front of our yard. After realising that they have insufficient parking for corner units, our neighbours were allocated parking in our front gate. The walls are too low, that we do not even have privacy in our own house. We requested them to at least adjust the boundary wall similar to other corner units, we were told that the cost will be covered by us.
Due to their delay in the occupation date, we were left without a place to stay. They booked us into a Guest house which was catering for breakfast. We had to cover for lunch and dinner at our own cost, which we could have easily bought grocery at our home. We spent thousands due to their inconvenience towards food and laundry services.
When the time to move in came, after a month or so, we could not even get a double base up the stairs a small arch leading to the staircase. They suggested that they are going to remove the window for us to take our furniture up, but we refused. Again, we had to go back to the guest house for them to fix. We later came back to attempt to take the queen base, but still no luck. We had to sleep on a mattress while they fixed the defect (34cm of the wall had to be cut).
To my surprise, recently another email was sent indicating that the stairs are not compliant with the standard building requirements. Now we must move to a place that they are going to pay for which is self-catering. Once again, we must incur costs which we did not plan for take-aways, alternatively buy grocery to take to this property. It looks like we will forever be leaving on a construction site, because the cracks keep on appearing and the patio ceiling after the recent rain was also leaking. We thank God it rained before they left the development, because it was going to be at our own cost. The poor workmanship in this estate is unbelievably shocking (it is like the builders used trial and error to get the building up).
The main bedroom you can't even fit a bed and 2 pedestals because the room is extremely small, an RDP bedroom is way much spacious than this room.
Certain features promised were never done, such as storage in the stairs, gutters, shower niche
In another room they left space for table, unfortunately you have to choose to put a table or bed. I forgot to mention the fact that the solar gyser is also not working, Eskom exposed them, as we were left without electricity for hours.
Warning for future buyers! Do not fall for the pretty brochures. Scrutinise every line of the OTP before you sign to make sure you are getting everything you saw in the brochure or wait for the units to be build and go view before you buy.
Best regards,
