Issues with Craft Homes

Never ever deal with Craft Homes, you will be throwing money down the drain. My dad bought a retirement home in the Retreat in Silverlakes 6 years ago structural cracks started to appear a few months after they took occupation, this was reported through the correct channels however it took a few weeks and numerous phone calls to get a representative to check on this. The said representative then note these all and commented that they were plaster cracks, they sent someone to repair them but my dad had to arrange for a painter to repaint these areas. After a few months the cracks started to appear again as well as damp rising throughout the house, this was reported again, and this is when the issues started, firstly as before they ignored the lists sent eventually on my instance a team arrived of representing Craft Homes. This team has no idea how to deal with clients and thought they could just bully their way through this as they have done at previous issues raised by other home owners, this did not work and I instructed two of the representatives to leave the property. They however said they would look at it, but did it happen no. I appointed an independent engineer to survey and give me a report, it was found that the raft foundation was not designed correctly for the soil the house is built on and the installation of this foundation was totally inadequate for what it was supposed to do. I sent this report to Craft Homes and the Home Owners association, but absolutely nothing, this is despite the fact that there are a number of homes in the estate that have similar issues. Eventually, they appointed an engineer to do the survey and report, surprise surprise the engineer came up with the same result and remedial action that needs to be taken to correct this as what I had given them. A few months went by and there were contractors appointed to pin these foundations to sort the problem out, if that is not an admission that the foundations were not done correctly, then I do not know. We have attempted to get this issue sorted out over the last 5 years with no success, in the meantime, my dad has to site with cracks that are 10-15mm wide and mould and damp in all the bedrooms. Do not deal with them you will throw your money away.
