Heart Breaking Experience with Craft Homes
I moved into my unit in March 2023 and have experienced countless issues with my house from the time of moving in to date, which is only just over 2 years. Literally there has been an issue in every single room in the house, even the garage had issues. Craft homes had snagged the house countless times but there is still issues. There has been a lots of issues with the geyser/ waterproofing done in the unit and both showers had to be chopped out and redone. After the last issue where the speed fitting burst, which resulted in 1 wall in the bathroom being damaged and 2 walls in the spare bedroom needing to be painted, Craft has said I must contact the insurance company as they cannot assist anymore. But if the houses were built correctly I would not be having these many issues on a brand new house. The walls outside my house are cracking so badly and this is not hairline cracks, if you have a look where the paint is peeled off you can see direct cement, meaning there was no water proofing done after they built. I do not know if this was missed. Also the house was sold on the base that it was brand new but shortly after moving in I found out someone was living in the house prior to me buying the house. This is false advertising and honestly ********* wrong to sell a house like this. Not to mention they built the houses with plastic pipping in the roof and not copper pipes resulting in a lots of water damage. My house was sold to me for over R2,5 million and my bond is 20 years, it just been 2,5 years and everything in the house is breaking one by one. Craft gets millions from building homes that should in essence last and not have these many issues. It’s such a sad and disappointing situation and experience.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We truly regret that your experience has not met your expectations and understand how frustrating this situation must be. Please note that Craft Homes has attended to the concerns raised during and after your occupation, including repairs to both showers and the most recent pipe issue. We also completed the original snag list and made an exception to assist beyond the initial inspection period.
The most recent water-damage concern relates to work carried out after the guarantee period had lapsed, which is why we were unable to attend to those specific repairs.
We remain committed to quality and customer satisfaction.
Kind regards,
Craft Customer Care Centre

Please could you kindly clarify the two point below as I see you did you not mention them in your initial response. How was the house I was sold, sold to me on the basis that it was a brand new house, but someone was living in it before me, is that the practices of Craft to sell properties like that?
Please also explain why when the guys came out to check the pipping they only tighten the valves and straighten the geyser and did not change the pipping to copper as the PVC pipping was an error from Crafts side and needed to be changed, that is already one of the reasons the units in Phase 2 have copper pipping in the roofs.
Your response will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
