WARNING: Do not use CQS Casware Support / AdaptIT

I am the owner of an accounting and auditing firm. This message is written for a young professional starting their own accounting firm and looking for software for financial statements. I have been a long time user of CQS Caseware financial statements which has served me well until the XBRL functionality was introduced (format of file to submit to CIPC). It has been a nightmare to produce the financials in XBRL format to clients. Often the files are rejected by the CIPC and/or their are problems with the mapping which has evolved to be IT problem rather than an accounting problem. CQS support contact details are not readily available on their website (done probably on purpose). CQS support is not available in a crisis. Spending long times on unanswered calls (in excess of 10 minutes on hold) it is almost impossible to get help with their software when you really need it (under pressure from clients). Emails to support at CQS are simply ignored. AdapIT has no power to assist either as they seem to be only concerned to sell the software (they should be able to assist but they cant even contact CQS casware either). Request for the details of the directors to approach them for help prior to writing this review is simply ignored. The above has been the case prior to COVID19 as well. With the technology increasing as far as automation is concerned there is a risk that the professional accountant is excluded from the process. Something that can only be bad for our profession.
