Apparent Final Demand for Student debt acknowledgement

I only ever made applications to the university and i was accepted into a program , however i never officially registered with the institution and i even went on to study somewhere else in the year 2022. Yet its 2023 now and i have been receiving messages from this institution saying i owe them yet i never registered with them or even attended class there. I keep explaining that i never studied there but they keep sending me emails with debt acknowledgement. How am i owing where i never even registered or attended?
