Rotten chicken

On 09.03.2015 I purchased 5 pack country fair chicken at PnP Claremont. It was immediately placed in the fridge and when I opened the pack on 10.03.2015 I have noticed there was light yellow/green colour on the chicken. Thinking my eyes are playing tricks on me I decided to smell the chicken and OH MY WORD the chicken had an awful smell. I was so disgusted in knowing that country fair could actually sell chicken that has been off as the BB date was only 11.03.2015. How do I get myself in buying chicken doubting whether or not the chicken is fresh or off.
