County fair - bulk purchase disappointments
I have been purchasing County fair chicken directly from wholesalers (a1 chicken) for the better part of 5 years.
Recently I've encountered the following: 1. A drop in packaging quality - super thin plastic that's always damaged resulting in loose pieces of chicken in the 10kg box (not packaged in separate 5 piece containers)
2. False packaging - again with regards to the 5 piece 10kg box. County fair is packaging 4 pieces of chicken with the breast cut in half and selling it as a 5 piece.
In mathematical terms they are correct... it is 5 pieces but, If this has not been the standard from the beginning... it SHOULD NOT BE ACCEPTABLE NOW.
When contacting my supplier, I'm informed that this was being done by County fair as the 5 piece chicken was not selling due to the per kilo price and by cutting the breast into two it lowered the the weight hence lowing the price making it more appealing to consumers.
I for one do not find it appealing. I feel **********. Imagine buying a garlic roll and only getting the top half... same thing.
