Take your Money and no assistance

On behalf of my Mother,

My mother reached out to Council Solutions 4 Months ago. As a family we relocated to the Uk in December last year, When my mother was in the process of selling her house, Rates and Taxes settlement was R350000 of course we immediately went into town to see the issue, after numerous times of up and Down, I met with the PA of the Director we were assured that there was definitely and issue as our meter had been faulty and it hadn’t been read for over 3 years, they always took an estimate of R20000 a month "for a standard residential home"

After this is went back and fourth between departments, needless to say by the time we had to leave SA this issue was still underway, This had been discussed with the Estate agent swell as the new owner, House could not be registered until the issue was resolved. Parties agreed and we went off to the UK.

2 months later we got a terrible message from the tenant stating she would not be paying occupational rent as this issue had been going on way to long, phone calls to SA city power and emails back and fourth all of a sudden it was back to R350000 and they wanted my mother to settle it upfront and then they would credit her, Of course no one just has that kind of money laying around.

This is when my mother approached Marc at Council Solutions. She explained her case and they came back stating she has to Pay R8000 upfront so they can start working on it ASAP, needless to say they did some research and said there was definitely ********** issues and they would sort it out... in-between that my mother had to may another R7000 totalling R15000 and after that we just haven’t heard from them, between us both I have sent mails and left messages we got 1 rely that they were extremely busy and would revert. NOTHING absolutely NOTHING.

I am back in SA and have been up and down trying to resolve this, with no help from Marc, this has lead to the new owner not paying occupational rent for over 4-5 months now as this electricity issue has just not been resolved.

Absolutely disgusting service. We would like Marc to get hold of my mother and pay her money back as i am in the process of working out a payment plan with City power myself.
