Utter disgusting service - no accountability

This nightmare started on Sat 3 June at Access park kids store. I purchased 2 items a khaki pants & white takkies. These items were suppose to be part of my boys Eid attire. My son then didn't like the khaki pants. I called Cavendish square branch on 10 June to find out if I could return item there as i was going to be at the mall that day but was advised that I could not as they no longer stock the item I purchased & would have to return to Access park. That same day I went to Access park to return the item & was advised they aren't able to refund cash as they're the factory store & gave me a R200 voucher instead. I then saw a black pants at the Waterfront branch on 11 June which I then purchased with the voucher & paid R20 cash additional. My son also not wanting the black pants I then went to waterfront branch on 17 June & wanted to return the item & was advised because I purchased with a voucher they could only give me back a voucher, I wasn't happy as I felt this was my money & never ever explained to me but I took the voucher again. My husband & son came to meet me later on that day to look, I took my little one & my husband our eldest. My husband took a blue pants using the voucher. When we got home I saw that he had purchased a pants my son already had. On 18 June I went back to Access park wanting to return the item but was advised by the lady teller that I could not return the item there & that I need to go to another branch, Cavendish being the closest she said and they can refund me my cash I was told. Annoyed I then drove all the way to Cavendish to do so but too my utter disgust & dismay it was not so. I was told I could have returned it at the Access park store & that they will not be refunding me my cash even though advised that by a Cotton on staff member. I spoke to store manager Angelique & she called the Access park branch & confirmed what I was told. She insisted she would not refund me even though the information given to me was incorrect & I drove all the way there on instruction. I spent an entire hour in the store in vain as all I was told is that they can't help me. She did call the region manager & apparently because I didn't have 1 of the slips from waterfront confirming my chain of events because the voucher numbers differ they could not or rather would not 'break the rules' to help a customer that was misled in the 1st place. She then advised I could have returned it there originally although advised otherwise & that you don't refund sale items, which by the way was not explained to me once. This remains MY money & I feel it is utterly disgusting for Cotton on to treat a client in this manner. According to the consumer act I as the consumer have the right to fair & honest dealing. To disclosure of information. To accoutability by suppliers.

These were not upheld by Cotton on & I will take this matter up with the retail ombudsman.
