Reversal of failed card transactions
Cotton on(menlyn mega, shop G55, G163, G164a, G203, cnr atterbury and Lois Ave Menlo Park, pretoria, gauteng 0081,telephone ********** ) takes forever to reverse a failed or pending card transaction. On the 14/06/2019 at 13h18pm a purchase was made at Cotton On pretoria Menlyn, a nedbank card(terminal ID Pos076209, authorized 376452 Trace no 184271, uti: ********** 5-8 ********** -4008-D06E4ED3BFEA)machine was used to complete the transaction(transaction no. Reg 09/283381)the card turned blank and was advised the transaction didn't go through as they were currently offline , However the funds were indeed not reflecting a minus on my account. The cashier named Lettie at Cotton On(terminal ID Pos076209, trans no. Reg 09/283381,receipt no. 6 ********** -0708), indicated to me the the sale wasn't complete and assured me that the funds will return to me. I then proceed to insert the card and re done the transaction again.soon after I left Cotton on, two transactions notification came for the same purchase were made by both amounts of purchases deducted from my account, went back to Cotton on, they called Nedbank to inform of the despite, nedbank informed them to ask me to call Capitec bank to reverse the pending transaction, I did so, then was informed by (capitec bank Capitec: MR OBAKENG MKHARI, you are in contact with Capitec Bank via telephone. If not call Capitec immediately on ********** 043) that went Cotton on banks their transaction on the end of business day which was 14/06/19 my funds will be returned to my account, but that has never been so, which proof must I put on the table, whereas the I have receipts even on my bank statement it shows, even took measures after being disappointed and angry visited Menlyn Capitec bank branch to explain the situation but to say a failed transaction hasn't been returned to my account. The consultant made a call and was told a card dispute needs to be lodged and can take upto 14 days to be processed. Surely this isn't complicated situation it's straight forward the funds needs to be returned to me there's no need for a card dispute my statement. It Cleary shows the two identical transaction on the same day at the same store one still unprocessed the other one processed. What's so complicated I don't see. The one transaction is still unprocessed at the time posting this complaint. So now I have to wait 3 weeks before I can get the funds back. Just because you can't see what's in black and white.
