G'bye Cotton On

On the 10th of May, I purchased two jerseys from Cotton On Walmer Park PE and a jogger for my husband. When we arrived at home, the jogger's safety tag was never removed, so strike number one was to take the jogger back to get the tag removed.

On 18 May, I finally decided to wear one of my new jerseys. Upon leaving home to go to work, my husband noticed a stain on the jersey, which pretty much just looked like a wet spot (it was just darker in colour). Off to work, realising that the wet spot is not a wet spot. To be honest, I actually felt quite humiliated as people probably thought that I went to work with dirty clothing while in the meantime it was actually still brand new.

My husband tried to take it back to the shop and they did not want to take it back.

Both my husband and I went back on 24 May to return the jersey for a new one. It was brand new and there was no way that I was going to wear it like that again.

The store assistant indicated that they will not be exchanging the jersey as "it was not in it's original condition". Well, that is quite biased, because that was it's original condition to me. I asked the store assistant whether it is then regarded that I am lying about it, because honestly there was absolutely no belief in what I was saying.

I chose to donate the jersey, with the slip and tag back to Cotton On. If I can't get a new one, I don't want sub-standard quality clothing that I can't wear.

It is absolutely disgusting that there is such a lack of trust in believing their customers. Needless to say, I have said my goodbyes to Cotton On as I am still waiting for the "Manager" to phone me.

So long, farewell!
