Cotton On Cradlestone
I have just been into your Cradlestone Branch, to get a replacement for my Cotton On Store/ RCS Card. I was told that to get a new one, all I would have to do is go in with my I.D. What a giant lie that was, let me tell you how it really went: 09:05 – I enter the store, after finding the sanitizer on a tiny stool near the entrance, no -one is in sight. 09:06 – I find all the staff, having a meeting at the till, even though the store is open, this might have been done prior to opening. So I linger for a few minutes, then I decide to leave and do my grocery shopping, thinking that the meeting will be concluded by the time I return. 09:45 – I return, still no-one in sight, ah there they are, at the till, 3/5 backs towards me, no-one even sees me as I approach the till…surprise!!!! “CUSTOMER” someone says. I explain my needs, to be told that “she will help me”, as my dear grandmother says, “who is she, the cat’s mother?”. Anyway the lady at the till (part of the 2/5 facing the customers) takes goes of to find some flipfile with a oh, so many, numbers scrawled on it. 09:50 – I give my I.D. over to her and she starts calling whoever she calls. (At this point a gentleman starts taking recording his colleagues’ temperatures, this is supposed to be done before opening, this might even be a legal requirement at the moment. 5 customers have been in and out the shop by this point, but “Coronavirus who?”.) 09:52 – The music is now turned up so loud that the lady ‘assisting ‘ me cannot hear whoever she is conversing with. The phone is now given to me (no, it wasn’t sanitized) and through the mask and the music I hear nothing. I give the lady on the phone my I.D. Number, and my address. The phone is returned to “she “. (I must now mention that no employees have name badges in this store.) 09:54 – I am given a s**** of till roll with an email address on, and told to photocopy my I.D., sign it 3 times, and email it to ***. I am then interrogated as to when I will do this and return to the store to get the card. As if I ever want to return to this store. It should be couriered to me so that I never ever have to enter this horrible store ever again. 09:55 – I leave. Note: Every interaction with CottonOn via email is answered with an auto response, telling me how because of the current pandemic, response times will be slow, so they acknowledge the pandemic here, but think that the safety measures put in place a joke in store. I will now email *** and await a response.
