Investing my 75 year old mom in a high risk fund

Very upset with Coronation. After my father passed away my 75 year old mom had a small amount of money that she wanted to invest and be safe and maybe receive a bit of interest. This was everything she owned.Spoke to Coronation agent, explained situation and bob's your uncle, money transferred. In 2 months she lost R20 000. And in the last week since speaking to someone, another R2000. I don't understand why they invested her in a fund that was already in a negative growth, knowing her age. Wouldve been nice if someone contacted her or me (her son) to just confirm and discuss the current fund. After all, she was looking to save her money in a money-market account, and now in a totally different fund. I feel so sorry for my mom.
