COOL BANANAS POSING AS 'HALAAL'

I have been working close by this establishment for the past few months and initially when I had started back in April of 2018, I frequented Cool Bananas but only to by coffee as I was under the impression the were not Halaal. I was then approached by a member of staff who offered me their daily lunch special. I asked her if it was Halaal and she assured me it was. To convince me even more, she told me she was Muslim so at this point I was sure that they are Halaal despite not having a certificate from the MJC or the ICSA.

I continued supporting them but later questions regarding their credibility started to surface. At this point I called them to once again question whether they were Halaal or not. Also, I wanted to know who supp**** their meat and why they don't have a Halaal certificate. Instead of getting proper answers, I was passed around from person to person and when I eventually requested to make a formal complaint, the Cool Bananas Employee hung up.

I am completely and utterly disgusted by the service and vague information provided by the staff. I am still unsure as to whether the food I have purchased over the last few months is halaal or not.

I feel as though my rights protected under The South African Consumer Protection Act, No 68 have been grossly violated. To be more specific, I particularly feel that that they have not comp**** with section 68.3 ( The Right to fair and honest dealing.)

Need I remind the management of Cool Bananas that a vast majority of the surrounding establishments have Muslim employees and us as a Muslim community do not take matters of this nature very lightly so it will be in their best interests to resolve this ASAP.
