No cash refunds on sale items

So I bought a dress that was on sale and decided I don't like the fit. When I went to return the dress I could not find anything I liked in the store to replace it with, but the people still refused to give me a cash refund saying they do not refund sale items, they give vouchers instead.<br> Does this mean I am bound to spend my money at Contempo once I fall for the trap? This is really ridiculous I have never heard of such.
