RED FLAG

I wish it was possible to give them a negative rating as that’s what they deserve. My premium where always up to date and paid before they needed to be. I had a very traumatic experience when myself and my friend where traveling back to my place of residence on 31 December at roughly 11:30 Am. We where traveling on the N12 eastbound. Conditions where very wet and many puddles formed on the highway, I was unable to avoid a large water mass due to its size. After hitting the water mass we lost control and made contact with the center barrier, after contact both driver side wheels broke off the vehicle from the impact. Vehicle came to a stop across the center two lanes myself and passenger exited the vehicle and ran for safety on the road shoulder where I made a call to the company’s emergency hotline for assistance. Metro arrived on scene before assigned towing services and directed traffic around the damaged vehicle. Car was towed from the scene and accident report was done immediately as I did not want accusations of being intoxicated as it happened over the festive season. Claim form was submitted as soon as the company opened after the holidays. After a lot of back and forth my claim was approved months later with terms and conditions that I had to agree too with I did not. One of the conditions was that any extra repair costs was on my account, I did not agree to this and repair center advised me not to either. Due to the damages on the vehicle it would have to be a strip and elimination process to fully see the extent of the damage, vehicles are not completely stripped in the quoting process and only damages that are seen can be quoted for. Secondly it is still a relatively new vehicle still falling under OEM warranty and maintenance plans, to have these re instated was put on my account as according to the insurance company the repair center the vehicle was at is not a vw approved center, it however is rated one of the top 3 vw repair centers in the country which they are completely aware of and where informed as-well myother parties. After I did not agree with there terms I was suddenly put under investigation by a company assigned by them with absolutely no credibility or any information could be found on the company with grew suspicion. Assigned investigator came to my place of work to question me which i cooperated fully, he questioned me for no longer than 5 min. Happy with my answers he left to go investigate the scene and car immediately after. Scene was only investigated 39 days after the accident. His official report claimed that no debris could be found at the scene, no rain was present on the day and a whole bunch of illogical statements. I’m not surprised no debris could be found at such a late stage. He also ruled I staged the accident as no white paint markings could be found on the barrier ( car has minimal damages to painted areas with would not be visible on barrier at such a late time only wheels connected with step on lower foot of the barrier which is clearly still visible until today , had he done a proper investigation he would have seen this ) I was accused of photoshopping scene photographs adding the wet conditions he claimed I struck a pavement on the 28 th December and planted the car on the scene (had I struck a pavement there would not be damages to the top of the wheel arches, mirror and many other high up components )I don’t know about you guys but planting a car across the center 2 lanes of the n12 peak day traffic without causing chaos or seen is highly unlikely if not impossible. To add to that tracking devices fitted in my vehicle clearly show on official reports the vehicle was traveling and came to a stop at the location date and time I claimed, secondly there is no recorded movement on the vehicle on the 28th as it was parked at my residence. Multiple trips where completed with the vehicle between the 29-31 December until the time of the accident. They take full advantage of the slow legal system in the country and add to it by taking a month to respond to 7 day deadlines and that’s if you get a response. They have absolutely no intention to have this resolved fairly and promptly. 9 months later I am still left without a vehicle and storage costs are racking up as you can imagine. This is how they treat coustomers with half a million rand assets with high premiums according. I would hate to know what they do to clients who can not afford legal action. Had I done better research on the company and see the reviews I see now I would have never even considered using them.
