Prime Meridian stole a pensioners money for 3 years

Prime Meridian sold me ( Drisha Pillay ) a life policy for my mum aged 67 at the time in March 2017 . A company called Prime Meridian underwritten by Constantia Insurance companies.

Firstly this policy was sold *******ly. I request a copy of the call recording, as I am proceeding with legal action against your company should you not meet my demand below.

I am also sending this to the Consumer Protection Act.

She was told that due to her age of 67 at the time, there is a waiting period of 3 years. If in the event of her death during that 3 year period, her beneficiaries will get back all the premiums that she paid to date. However after three years( Which would be from March 2020) , the full benefit amount of R 500 000 will be paid out in the event of her death.

Then I receive an email from them stating the following :

“’Good day Devamani Govindasamy Due to regulatory changes Constantia Insurance Company Limited needs to discontinue & cancel your (Living Legacy/Cover Grow) policy with effect from 31/03/20. Please do not be alarmed, we will call you over the next few days to explain everything. Regards Lorna Stuurman”’

I tried calling them from the 25/2/2020 but to no avail. Left numerous messages. Today I called a gentlemen named Simon Seripe on ***. He informed me that the policy I had,was sold by an insurance company that is only allowed to sell short term insurance and in my case it was sold wrongly as a long term policy. According to the new act by the Financial regulator, Constantia Insurance cannot sell long term policies hence the cancellation of the policy.

So I asked him what about the monthly contributions as my mum had paid R90000 in total over 3 years. He said unfortunately we will not be re-imbursed as we would have been covered at the time.

My argument is that you guys sold a life policy to me instead of my mother. That is surely ******* .

I am asking for a full refund of all my premiums or else this matter is going legal.
