Life cover for seniors cancelled

I took out life insurance on my mother in law and my father with PMD almost a decade ago. At the end of February 2020, I received 2 sms's advising me that the cover has been cancelled and that I should not be alarmed. No alternative solutions have been provided to me and I have no word of whether or not my premiums will be refunded. PMD has not provided any updates so far either. Premiums paid are in excess of R200k. Considering that both insured individuals' health has deteriorated since then and also that they are passed retirement age, companies refuse to insure them at all. Surely this is unfair treatment to clients? I'm really concerned that my parents have no cover at the moment and I'm not sure how or from whom to ask for assistance
