***** - listing of my details on credit burea

I have recently interacted with Standard Bank to change from my current account to a different product, this application was done on 18 January 2024. Part of the process that the bank had to undergo was verify credit status.

However, the bank then notified me that the application was declined on the basis that I am being listed/flagged on credit bureau. The consultant provided me with all the details of the company that listed me. It was Connect Financial Solutions. The contact number provided was *** and the e-mail was ***.

Firstly, this telephone number does not exist. I then e-mailed Karabo and gave her all the details. I provided her my ID number as per her request.

She called me on 24 January 2024 and told me that I have an account with Hi-Corporation which I opened in the year 2018. This was a greatest of surprise as I have never had any account with this company.

I asked for the details of the contract and she was cagey about, eventually she asked me to send her my ID and an affidavit to dispute the listing. But, then what details do I put on the affidavit if I don't have all the full details?

This is a ***** and people should be very careful with their IDs. I can't begin to mention the inconveniences that these *****ulant activities have on our credits.

I would appreciate it if someone can assist in resolving this issue, perhaps if you might have faced the same problem.
