Conlog prepaid meter constant tripping reported but ignored!
There is nothing worse than a company brushing you aside. That has been my experience with Conlog.
If you are thinking of installing a hybrid inverter and you have a Conlog prepaid meter, read this!
On 4 June 2023 I sent an email to Conlog requesting help with my recently installed Conlog pre-paid meter. Whenever my inverter connects to the grid [via the prepaid meter], the Conlog meter trips. The Walter Sisulu Municipality had no solution.
On 5 June, I got the following response from Conlog: “Our Support Rep has indicated that your Incident INC-141649 has been Resolved. The resolution details are as follows: Please consult with your local Municipality or Service Provider regarding the SSEG installation, Alternately, any request for meter management tokens must come from an official request made by the Municipality and or Service Provider. If you believe that your ticket has not been resolved, please send an email"
I immediately rep**** as follows: “The incident HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. If you read my original email, I stated that "I have approached the municipality but ..." Meaning that the individual didn't know what I was talking about. I have now sent an email to the person who "forced" me to install this pre-paid meter to see if she can help. Can you give the contact details of anyone who could help that you deal with at the Walter Sisulu Municipality?”
My email was ignored!
On 26 June I sent Conlog the following email: “This issue persists and the municipality cannot help. I reported this issue to the municipality and have spoken to the guy in charge of electrical. His details are as follows: Mr Luvoyu Ndibela - [phone number removed] I have also reported the problem to the head of accounts who told me that I had no choice about having a pre-paid meter installed at my house. Ms Buyiswa Nyotho - [phone number removed] During my last conversation with Luvoyu, I was told that the municipality receives your meters pre-programmed and they do not have the software to change anything. Not good enough as far as I and other individuals with the same problem are concerned. A SOLUTION NEEDS TO BE FOUND. More and more individuals with Conlog meters will be facing the same issues when they install their Hybrid inverters. Our municipality is clearly not able or not willing to sort this out. WHAT NEXT?”
Naturally, once again, Conlog ignored my email.
It was not my choice to install a prepaid meter, not my choice that it be a Conlog meter and [for now] I have no choice but to accept being ignored by both my municipality and Conlog.
