Unprofessional Conduct and Delayed Assistance With Urgent MRI Results

Extremely disappointed with the service received from Dr Conidaris & Partners’ MRI department.

I contacted the practice urgently requesting my MRI report and images as I am currently dealing with a medical emergency and my Neurosurgeon at Life Groenkloof urgently requires them. Instead of assistance and understanding, I was met with rude and dismissive behaviour from a staff member.

I was told that my MRI records from January 2026 were “very old” and difficult to retrieve, which is honestly shocking considering it was only done a few months ago. I then had to explain why it is not practical for me, as a patient residing in Benoni, to travel to Pretoria simply to hand-deliver results to a specialist.

After much frustration, I eventually received a link that was only valid for one day and which only contained the MRI images — not even the written report. How is a specialist expected to access urgent scans if the link expires before he is able to review them?

Patients and medical aids pay substantial amounts for these scans and services. The least one expects in return is professionalism, urgency, compassion, and basic human decency — especially during a medical emergency.

Very disappointing experience from a practice I have supported on numerous occasions over the years.
