Cancellation fee --- Very Unhappy

I bought 5 tickets for Afrikaans is Groot in March 2019, unfortunately I wont be able to attend and wanted a refund, I did request on their website that I want a refund in October, no one has come back to me yet... today when I phoned Computicket they told me that I have to pay a 50% cancellation fee... I think this is ridiculous ... I am very unhappy because I can't afford to pay R610 just because I cant go to the event.
