Unable to obtain any service from Computershare

I have been in contact with Computershare over the course of the last month, trying to sell the Sanlam shares. The only prompt service I received, is the mail to collect huge admin fees to perform a demat of shares certificate. I was told that proof of payments and additional documents should be shared, although none of their comms provided any address or number to send anything to. Latest is that after the admin fee, I must sign the indemnity form, and it is going for two weeks just trying to get the indemnity form to complete. Empty commitments from the call centre and agents, and me as a customer is sitting with nothing but frustration and huge bills to call them the whole time.

We do apologise for the fact that our Call Centre Agent misunderstood your query and forwarded you an indemnity for the replacement of a lost share certificate. We have established that the certificate had not been issued and did not require replacement. We are pleased to advise that the certificate has been issued and sent for dematerialisation. As soon as we receive the custody and settlement agreement and your FICA documentation, your CSDP account has been opened the shares will be placed into it. We will also refund the payment you made for the indemnity.

Please accept our sincere apologise for the inconvenience you have been caused.

Kind regards

Computershare

So after a few fights and endless mails, it was eventually found that my certificate was never issued and the admin amount was not necessary. The amount of miscommunication within the organisation is absolutely shocking. I have just tried to perform a trade on the stock, and the exercise was exactly the same level of poor service as previously experienced. Even though my dividends and refunds were paid to my account, I was asked to provide my full account number over the phone and it had to manually be checked that the account is in my name. I have just asked to talk to the team lead, and after explaining the concerns from a security and privacy perspective, she decided to put the phone down without a word. This is by a long shot the worst experience I have ever encountered, and would not willingly do any business with this company.
