paying dividends to a non shareholder

Dear Sir/Madam

I logged a query with Computershare on the 13.01.2015. (U***)
I had taken out shares with Computershare and given them my banking details on the applicationform.
However this bank account number (***) was closed in 2008.
Computershare was told by Standard Bank when paying out my dividends that the account number was not valid, obviously because my account number was no longer in use. Within the 6 months of Computershare trying to pay out my dividends, I then received a letter from Computershare requesting me to provide new banking details as they were unable to pay out my dividends. This was the first and only time that I was aware that dividends were been paid to me. However I did not submit my new banking details when I received the above mentioned letter as I was still in a process of opening up a new bank account. I did not receive any other letter from Computershare following up on the letter that they sent me requesting me for my new banking details or a letter stating that that the dividends were actually paid (whereby I could question it).
I called the call centre (December 2014) to find out the process on how to submit new banking details
