Incomplete Information and Wasting my Time

I inherited shares. The holder passed away on 2002-04-11. The executor appointed an attorney to finalise. The attorney completed forms for transfer of shares and the estate was finalised in October 2002. The final distribution account indicates that the shares were awarded to me. The estate has been finalised and closed. I found out afterwards that the one set of shares was transferred (Distell) but the other set (Sanlam) was not. The attorney has since been s****ped from the roll. During the past 12 years I have tried numerous times to do the transfer..I have contacted your offices more than once to ascertain exactly which documentation you need, and signed by whom, only to be sent away again at the walk-in. The last time was last week when I got the list of required documentation again per e-mail from Thabo at the Sanlam call center only to be told by Shauniel that it is not correct. I have also sent a complaint through to Marie Steyn but no reference number and no feedback. How hard can it be just to confirm once and for all, in writing, what documents you need and signed by whom? And one contact person that can assist me and be consistent with regards to what is required.

Hello SZaayman,

As we advised you, we may only act on the instruction of the executor of the estate. We did, however, contact the executor when you visited our offices and are pleased that the matter has been resolved.

Kind regards
