Horrible service by Roewayda Kriel of Computershare

My father in law passed away on the 1st of January 2017, had bought shares through Sanlam which are administered by Computershare in Rosebank reference number U ********** 657 .On Monday the 28 February I sbmitted all the required documents required when a shareholder passes away. These also included a letter stating that my mother in law would like her late husband shares transfered to her as she was the appointed executor of his estate .Two weeks later she got a notification on the mail that advised her that her late husband's date of birth did not correspond with his Id number and requested that I submitt a letter from the department of home affairs explaining this matter .When I went to home affairs Kempton Park I spoke to Mr Malope who advised me that they do not issue such documents , but he can give me a document from the population register that confirms that the deceased' id number on the death certificate ,is for the same person as on the pupulation register . I submitted that document to Shauneil Harris who advised me that she will forward the document to one of the managers ,two days later I got a call from a lady who did not introduce herself on the phone she was looking for my mother in law ,when I advised her that I was handling the matter on behalf of my mother in law, she told me that if i was not the executor of the estate she will not disclose anything to me ,she just said I must advise my mother in law to go to any branch of Sanlam and have the date of birth of her late husband rectified .we went to the Sanlam in Johannesburg and spoke to A lady called Mirriam who advised us that they do not have access to fix anything that has to do with Computershare ,and she can only help us submit a Sanlam death claim which we did ,the sanlam death claim was finalised by Cindy Solomons who picked up the same thing about the ID number and date of birth not corresponding and she asked me to do an affidavit at the police station and settled the mattter . If Sanlam has finalised even though they encountered the similar error with the date of Birth , what is stopping Computershare from doing the same , I have sent numerous email's to Roewayda Kriel as she is the person that is handling this matter . she seems not to know who the relevant person to speak to is , she has sent email to incorrect departments , including the death claims department after i advised her that Cindy helped settle the death claim .It has been six months with no positive feedback which is really ridiculous , Computershare is not doing anything to resolve this matter , I need Roewayda Kriel 's boss to contact me with a solution and not send me on a wild goose chase like she did .This is the worst service I have ever experienced .

Regards

Sandile Majola

We do apologise for the delay in updating your account. We were awaiting authorisation from Sanlam, which has now been received, as well as outstanding documentation from the executor. As discussed on the telephone, once we have everything the account will be updated.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience you have been caused.

Kind regards
