Computershare, is the organisation having money problems and do you have a standard for service delivery?
<p>I have recently made the effort to track down my shares and discovered I have Vodacom, MTN and Telkom shares held with computershare which I haven't recieved communication - OR DIVIDENDS- for, for a period of 10 years.</p> <p> </p> <p>I went into the computershare office on 13 July 2017 - today is the 25th- to sort out the account so that I could claim the outstanding dividends and my shares.</p> <p> </p> <p>It intrigues me that computershare, for 10 years, did not try to contact me, but that is not the core of my problem, although I would like to find out why.</p> <p> </p> <p>I have had a cheque for MTN dividends which has been sitting uncleared in my account for over 10 days, are MTN and Computershare having financial problems the public/shareholders need to be aware of?</p> <p> </p> <p>In addition, having called the call centre this morning, there is no reason available as to why the Vodacom and Telkom dividends have not been paid out. How is this OK?</p> <p> </p> <p>Further, after not bothering to contact me or attempt to contact me to update details etc, FOR A PERIOD OF 10 YEARS, I'd like to find out why I should keep my money and these shares with computershare.</p> <p> </p> <p>The service has been **********, there is a number (011) ********** - when called the client is treated to menu options in Afrikaans, to hell with the majority of us who don't speak Afrikaans, right?</p> <p> </p> <p>If you choose "ontvangs" as a menu option, as I did, you will be put through to a rude man speaking Afrikaans, who will then hang up on you or you'll just be haphazardly transfered from one department to another.</p> <p> </p> <p>Is this acceptable operating standandard at Computershare?</p>

I have recieved 5 calls over the past 2 days.
3 of which I was not able to answer yesterday as I was busy, there was no message left and I was not prepared to call back to be bounced from pillar to post to find out WHO called.
Why not leave a message for clients (because this is what I am) to contact you back when they are available.
NOTE: Clients are not subject to your availability.
In addition 2 calls were made to me this morning in quick succession, I did answer and there was silence at the other end.
Is there something wrong with your lines? There is nothing wrong with my phone - having recieved calls before and after the the 2 from ********** .
Tell me, will Computershare now shrug their collective shoulders as you have done for the last 10 years in not updating my information or paying me out my dividends?
I am perplexed that between computer share *the broker* and MTN there are suh severe delays in payouts and that I have had a cheque sitting uncleared in my account for going on 2 weeks - this is highly irregular, and the other dividend payouts have not reflected at all.
I expect a response today.

I am moving my shares away from you fools. I recommend that any investor with any sense does the same.

We are at a lost to understand why you have not received any communication from us as we have been sending statements to the Durban address you provided when you opened your account since 2004.
MTN has a policy that dividend payments are only made by cheques which are posted to shareholders. Since you have not been receiving your statements, you would not have been receiving your dividend cheques since they were sent to the same address.
You visited our offices on the third of this month and updated your address and banking details. A new cheque was issued for your MTN dividends and deposited into your bank account on 18 July 2017. We have today paid your outstanding Telkom and Vodacom dividends directly into your bank account.
