Poor non existent service and payments for injured on duty workers
I was injured in May 2019 and went to hospital.Due to my injury I had to undergo emergency spinal surgery spent a month in hospital and was sent home to recover and undergo treatment from physio and my neurologist. My employer paid me at a reduced rate as stipulated in the COID Act and had filled in all then paperwork and submitted all reports as required to the WCC.It is now four months since I last received a salary when we eventually get through to the call centre we are given all types of excuses and requests for more documentation.Eventually when I was well enough to undertake the journey to Pretoria we went to them personally and was informed that they cannot assist as their systems are still down due to a software upgrade that was done in August 2019.It is now December 2019 and they still using the same excuse. At this stage I have not been paid and so have many others.Who can assist us as we are in a precarious financial pressure.I was informed that I may still not be fit to even go back for the next few months. How do we pay for basic needs and requirements in our home and pay debt that we have accumulated interest on.This is unacceptable.Furthermore even the medical practitioners have also not been paid as yet and are threatening not to continue treating us any longer.
