NEVER BUY A CARAVAN FROM COMET CARAVANS
We traded our caravan in on a different one at Comet Caravans, this happened March 9 2019 they had 2 weeks to get the caravan ready as we were going to the coast. The 29 March they phoned me to say the caravan was ready BUT they have just found out the movers are not working and part of the tent is missing - they had 2 weeks to sort this - we also paid to have new vents put in as one was broken but they are off the market so they cannot replace the broken one so an arrangement was made we will pay for one and they will pay the other one, on our costs we took the caravan to Villiers to get the movers repaired at Comets expense which was a success except my husband could not leave until the money was paid by Comet as they owed the company money. When we checked the "NEW" vents we saw they had put second hand ones on as they damaged and old which had been taken off another caravan at instructions give by the sales person who sold us the caravan, we waited another 2 months to get new vents once again at our cost we took the caravan back to Comet ( we live in Vereeniging and they are in Boksburg) to have the new vents out on. What they do if something is missing in one of the caravans it is taken out of another caravan, that is what happened to us where the tent is concerned so they took a tent from another exclusive and put it in ours but part of it was missing so they have had to have one made at Pinetown it is now more than 4 months and we are still waiting for the front wall of the tent - all we get is excuses after excuses as to why we are still waiting. I phoned Monday 15 July 2019 and was told they were picking it up Thursday 18 July 2019 from just outside Pretoria the drop off point, I informed them I would phone 19 July 2019 to confirm it was there before we ride all the way again - guess what more excuses. So to summarise never buy from Comet Caravans
