Comet Caravans Boksburg - Going above and beyond

We are all always quick to complain about bad service, and rightly so. Today I'm going to shout out about GREAT service instead.

I have a Jurgens Explorer 2010 caravan. One of the control knobs on the two plate gas stove in the caravan started acting up. On 6 Jan I took it to Comet Caravans Boksburg (also known as Campworld Boksburg) to have the gas stove serviced. They sent it in on my behalf to the supplier of these gas stoves. Apparently the stove was sent by the supplier to someone to fix, who couldn't fix it. It was then sent to someone else to fix, who could also not fix it. On 24 Feb I was informed by Comet Caravan that the supplier was going to replace the gas stove since they could not fix it. I was very impressed with the supplier's service because the gas stove was definitely not under warrantee anymore. Two weeks later my feeling of being impressed had changed to irritation because the supplier had not delivered the promised gas stove to Comet Caravans yet. I'm going camping soon and I need the thing.

On Saturday, 10 Feb when I arrived at Comet Caravans to collect the gas stove because the supplier would have dropped it off on the Tuesday, it had still not arrived. I have to point out that this was not the fault of Comet Caravans. While I was waiting for Thomas Leifert who was assisting me to finish up with some customer, I was browsing around in the shop. The next moment an attendant was standing next to me asking me "Are you the guy waiting for the gas stove?". "Yes, I am". "Thomas said to give you a new one out of our stock. We will sort it out with the supplier later."

Unfortunately they did not have the exact same model that I gave in, in stock so they gave me one which was similar in size. This one had self igniters and a glass panel to close the plates so that you could put something down on it! Mine did not. What an upgrade.

Comet Caravans did not have to do this. It was not their responsibility. They simply did it to assist a customer.

THAT is what customer service is about.
