CMC - collision damaged centre - dishonest with there Painttech or Renewtech policy

If there was a rating "0" then I would have chosen this. Careful what you add and pay for when you buy a new car. CMC collision management centre offers you a Painttech / Renewtech policy for a few thousand rand. This covers minor dents and scratches not more of 15 cm in diameter. Windscreens ad hail damage are also covered. However - this is not done at ALL. I had a claim for a scratch mark of 10cm in diameter (the measurement was done by the panel beaters themselves) They have quoted +- R4000 for the damage , took a photo as well as circled the scratch with a white board marker (diameter 10cm). According to CMC you can claim up to R5000 per quarter. So this claim was less than R5000 as I have not claimed in 12 months and the scratch was less than 15 cm. So everything was within the limitations of the policy. I have sent this claim to PTAdmin <***> and it was forwarded to '***' who reviewed the claim and rejected the claim. His reason was as follows "the scratch exceeds 15cm in diameter" this is now despite the fact that the panel beaters confirmed that the scratch is only 10 cm (they actually made the circle and diameter more to ensure that there was no misunderstanding or dispute on the size of the scratch. My personal measuring was 6 cm but that was very conservative and precise. Unbelievable as it sounds I kept on getting this reply from Sipho that the scratch is in excess of 15 cm. There was a chip on the black of the bumper from a previous incident which can in any case not be repaired unless you replace the whole bumper - it was quite distance away from the claimed scratch - so this was not even part of this claim) There was also a vague line (no scratch no dent) from a previous incident but it is 5 cm from the claimed scratch - so definitely not even part or linked or touching the damaged and claimed scratch . To place the cherry on top this vague mark can be polished out with ease as there is no dent or paint damage. Mr Sipho from CMC insisted that he will measure for the claim from the bumper (that is not repairable and not even close to the scratch) up till the end of this vague mark has no paint damage or dent. He kept on sending the same reply : "The below claim has been brought to our attention and unfortunately the damage is in excess of 15cm in diameter" I did everything to prove that is was not in excess of 15cm as well as ask the panel beaters to communicate it to Sipho of CMS. I then came to realise that Sipho measured the damage from the mark on the bumper 5 cm from the real scratch until the end of the vague mark that was also 5 cm from the scratch It is shocking that CMC can sell a Painttech/Renewtech policy to new buyers of cars but they do not plan on honoring their policy at all . A real nice way of making money. I realised that sellers of these policies are making a lot of money as most of the people forget about this policy or find it to time consuming to claim from the policy. The other odd percentage of people's claims get declined -so they (in this instance CMC) is making a lot of money without doing any work. What a nice business. So yes people DO NOT take this policy out as you will only be wasting your time and most of ALL YOUR money.
