Day Light *******

In Jan 2020 my son registered at College of Cape Town to do an Autocad course. He paid R1,000 registration fees. He physically attended one class and after that he was advised that the course will be discontinued because they do not have enough students registered. He was then supposed to get a refund for his study fees and due to Covid he was unable to physically go to the College. He then just never went back to request his refund. A few months ago the College of Cape Town sent him a statement demanding that he pays a balance of R3,159. He then ignored that and now he received a handover letter stating that he need to settle immediately. How can you demand money for a course that was cancelled by the College and now hold the student liable for the fees?

This is day light *******, he is the one whom is supposed to get a refund from them. He was quite eager to take on this course and was excited but then to be told they don't have enough students therefore they cannot continue.
