DIsregard for personal belongings.

I wanted to take a moment to give some feedback on my moving experience with this company.

Firstly, I want to state that Fortune (driver) and the rest of his crew were very friendly and helpful. However, they arrived at my house at 14h15, which was over an hour past the time we had arranged. (my move was scheduled for 1pm) The company did inform me that they were running late (15 min or so I was told) and I take that into account. But this delayed a whole lot of other things I had planned and had to take an extra day off to get it done!

The moving of the furniture into the truck took about 90 minutes, in this time I was between houses trying to sort out as much of the little things as I could. In the future, I won’t do this as I had left my **** to monitor what went on. I take responsibility for my part. I felt that the men took their time moving, I rationalised that they were trying to plan how best to fill the truck and make sure the furniture wasn’t damaged or broken. I was happy with my thoughts. When the truck drove from Poinsettia to Bizweni, Fortune was driving carefully and slowly. I was pleased overall.

Once the men unpacked all my furniture and left, I went around ensuring everything was in its correct place. What I found disappointed me greatly. The movers had scratched and bumped my furniture so badly. The legs on my bed base are completely scuffed, and even have chips out the wood. The headboard is scratched all along the back. They have scratched my coffee table and dining room table deeply. The coffee table’s one leg has come out completely. MY fridge has been knocked in both the fridge door and freezer door. My microwave is scratched all along the top! My sons's bedside tables have been scratched to the point the paint has been removed. This is all fine as I can repaint them, but the other stuff will cost me some money to fix and replace.

I understand that there is probably nothing you can do about my furniture, it was my responsibility to make sure that your employees handled my stuff with greater care. But, as a moving and storage company I would think that they would take better care of other people’s belongings.

I feel that they tried too hard to ensure that the tuck was only one load, to save from driving up and down, and so they just kept piling furniture on top of furniture, I saw that the truck had blankets to protect some furniture, maybe you need to invest in some more? In the future, I will be a lot more careful on the company I use, and the questions I ask before I employ them. I have previously not used a mover and moved myself, by hiring a big trailer and some men to assist. I hired a company this time round to save me the hassle. I would have gladly paid extra if I knew this would happen
