Cancelled sell orders, locked wallets & hours of down-time
While Coindirect may appear to be reputable, most of my dealings with them have been infuriating. Not only are their spreads unreasonable, but their inability to protect me as a buyer and seller of digital currency is inexcusable.
On one occasion I had two sell orders cancelled long after I had locked-in because the seller was apparently "not available." Now more recently when I tried to purchase Ripple, the purchase went through, but my account was credited with Bitcoin instead. After multiple attempts to transfer the currency, I was told their exchange server is down - as a result, I am losing money having something I didn't even pay for. It's now almost 48 hours of down-time and I still do not have the Ripple I ordered - its value has increased substantially in this period, and I as well as many others have been excluded from the market action taking place. At present I cannot buy or sell my Ripple: it is frozen in my wallet.
As soon as I can find a better exchange, I will move. Luno are awful as well, and as a South African, you can't help but feel like you get the short end of the stick every time. If I don't receive what I bought for I will be pursuing matters further. To anyone wishing to use this service: you have been warned! They are ***********, inefficient and largely ineffectual. South African consumers deserve better - local and international companies like Coindirect are prime examples of predatory, apathetic organisations who treat their users and clients as cash ***s rather than human beings. AVOID!
