Coastal Security botched the job and took my money

I would strongly recommend that anyone reading this not do business with Coastal Alarms in Hout Bay. I called them in to fix my home alarm system. The technician said that the battery was finished and replaced it at a cost of R 756. That night the alarm stopped working and so I called them in again. The technician said that it was definitely the transformer this time and quoted me for the installation of a new one: R 625. I foolishly paid both invoice and quote. The new transformer blew up whilst they were attempting to install it. I was then informed that this was the result of the alarm's faulty electricity board and quoted around R 5000. Why did they not test the whole system in the beginning? Surely one should test the system before installing a new transformer, if there's a possibility of it being destroyed? I contacted them about this and they stated that they \understand my frustration\" but it was \"just one of those things\". I'm not sure to which \"things\" they refer. I have paid R 1381 for nothing, and Coastal Alarms are happy to leave it at that. I would caution against doing business with this service provider."
