On wednesday 13 November 2019 I hired a generator from coastal hire west rand branch and I only used it at night. On saturday 16 November 2019 the thing wouldn't start. I tried to get an emergency number from the website as the after office hours message for the head office number stated, only to find out that there are no emergency numbers. It's saturday and coastal does not open on sundays. That is 2 days that I now have to pay for a generator that does not even work. I followed their instructions on how to operate the generator to the letter. But where do you se a generator that goes through 500ml of oil in 6 hours? That amount of oil should last a week. The thing was faulty before they even gave it to me. I am busy upgrading my solar, thats why I need a generator at the moment. And now I have a house full of guests and a mother who had a medical procedure, for wich I need lights to be able to clean properly. This is completely unacceptable. So here is the big question, WHY IS THERE NO EMERGENCY NUMBER, WHEN HEAD OFFICE CLEARLY STATES THERE IS? BECAUSE THAT ENSURES THAT WHEN THEIR **** DOES NOT WORK OVER THE WEEKENDS THAT PEOPLE STILL NEED TO PAY FOR A PILE OF JUNK AND ARE STUCK WITHOUT ELECTRICITY. SO NOW I AM WONDERING HOW I WILL PREPARE MEALS FOR MY GUESTS AND MOTHER AS I HAVE NO POWER BECAUSE OF S****. I ALSO NEED IT YO PUMP WATER AS I HAVE A BOREHOLE. THIS IS AN EMBARRESSMENT AS WELL AS INCONVENEINCE.
