Not honouring advertised price

I am currently in you store in the Kolonnade shopping centre where I am attempting to purchase a PS4 game, marked down from R699 to R100.

Even though the item is clearly marked with a sale sticker (one of many other games which have been marked down), the store manager is refusing to sell the item to me at the marked down price, as it is scanning for R500.

I have explained that regardless of the price it is scanning at, it is clearly marked R100 and as such, that is the price which applies - clearly stated in the CPA.

The store manager (Gloria) however insists that the sticker was "peeled off" from another game's cover and stuck onto the game I am attempting to purchase. She is therefore maintaining that it cannot be sold to me at the marked down price, as it is incorrectly labeled - something which is not my mistake and should therefore also not be my problem.

I am completely disgusted at the attitude of the store manager and the feeble excuse of not being able to honour the marked price.

I have requested to speak to the regional manager, as the store manager has been of no help, however she has dialed the customer complaints line, and handed me the phone. This is of no help at all, as the number just rings and my request was to speak to her direct manager, not a helpline.

I have previously had a bad experience in this store and am appalled at the attitude given to me by the manager.

Her final response was that the game originally cost R699 and that she will sell it to me for R500. I refused, as this is not the price that appears on the item and I am also not willing to bargain for the item.

Needless to say, I have not purchased the game and have also left behind a second game that I had wanted to purchase.

I will most definitely not set foot in this store again, as I would much rather take my business to an establishment that bases their business on honesty and proper values and principles.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention .We can understand how disappointing this was for you. However CPA- states-"Obvious and unintentional pricing errors are not binding if the supplier corrects it and informs the customer of the correct price" .In this case the price sticker was peeled off and placed on this game .***/GO

Kind regards
