CNA wont give refund for a laptop that is clearly faulty

I purchased a brand new Lenovo 330 for R8999 on Saturday 10 August 2019. When I came home and opened it and switched it on, I immediately noticed this terrible buzzing sound coming from the laptop, followed by an error code when trying to install BRAND NEW software that I had just opened to install, and yes the laptop meets the requirements for the software, followed by some programs being displayed incorrectly, some programs were big and blurry, and these programs worked fine with my previous laptop which was less powerful and half the price. Anyway on 11 August 2019 the Sunday I tried to return the laptop for a refund but I could not because apparently I needed a reference number from the supplier who only operates Monday to Friday. On the 13 August the Tuesday, I phoned the supplier but I could not be helped because apparently they were not the supplier of the laptop and I did not have a "congratulations" sticker so they could not help me. I then missed my university classes to go directly to the store on that Tuesday only to find out the suppliers are telling the employees the same thing, I then waited an hour on the suppliers reply to find that the supplier did not respond. The employee that helped me phoned the suppliers a fifth time, the suppliers did not want to take responsibility for a faulty laptop. Eventually they told me they booking the laptop in for repairs, when I clearly stated I want a refund and not a repair, also they admitted to also hearing the funny sound coming from the harddrive so I don't understand why it must be booked in because it's clearly faulty. I was then told it's at the suppliers discretion on whether I get a refund or replacement, when the consumer protection Act clearly states that the consumer has the right to elect whether they want a repair refund or replacement if the product is defective. I'm very frustrated and disappointed with CNA because my sale was with them and not the supplier. I want my refund and not a replacement. They don't even deserve a one star. I am very very upset.
