CNA Poor Service - Damaged Tablet for repair
I recently purchased 2x Freedom Hurricane Mobile 7" Tablets from CNA Claremont as they were running a SALE on their electronics - I basically got both for half price - Great Deal!!! or so I thought!
I brought both home - unboxed and gave to my kids - Dad of the Year award! 1 of the tabs would not switch on ... plugged into the mains to charge - unfortunately the tablet did not work. Very disappointing, I returned the one and still felt OK that I got a good deal. Explained the fault to the store who reluctantly returned my money as they did not have any more in stock.
The working device had some intermittent problems, but it was OK - i got it cheap.... It then stopped charging entirely after about 3 weeks - i then reluctantly took it into the store after about 4 weeks. The device was then scrutinized by the staff and after much frustration re-explaining the issues, told me that I had sent in the wrong box for the device. They took the device in and after 5 weeks, got an SMS to say that they device was repaired and ready for collection.
Repair note showed that I should not let the battery go to 0% - WHAT?
Anyway - took the device home, gave my son the instruction not to play to 0%... He stopped at 5% then put the device away - next morning the device was dead - Charge it! The charge function again did not work.... So back to the Original Problem on both devices.
Reboxed, found all original cables and receipts and returned to CNA to find out what they are going to do.... I then proceeded to explain what had happened - the staff then checked that device again and said that the manager would need to discuss this with me.
I waited until the Manager was on the phone and explained that this is a problem with the device and would need to again be sent back to the supplier. I understand, but clearly this is a problem with this devices and should never have been sold in the first place. I am the customer - yet, this is entirely aligned to CNA processes and NOT for Mine at all... There is ZERO repercussion to this action and the CNA staff most probably feel like I am the troublemaker! (for returning a faulty product that they should never have sold - or returned my money / swapped the product and then appologised for wasting my time in the first place!)
Instead of HelloPeter - I tried the CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE LINE on 2 occasions... contact the Edcon Customer Experience Head Office at *** - number cuts out on both occasions ... maybe they knew I was going to complain...
Rant over, but really not happy that BIG companies can hide behind really terrible process and procedures to protect themselves and not support the CUSTOMER.... What happened to the Customer that is right????
