Good morning. Yesterday I had an horrific experience with a CNA employee in Pinecrest centre previously known as Sanlam centre. On Friday I bought a laptop for business purposes and it happened that the only one left for the model I wanted was on display and they asked if I was okay to take it and agreed, well the lady that was helping with the sale just highlighted information with the laptop and it was removed from the display and we went to the counter where she tried to charge the battery so that I may see that the laptop was functioning okay, which was unsuccessful as the laptop was charged for sometime and it didn't open and she asked if I was okay to take it home and try to charge it and if I encounter any problem it can be returned within 7days of purchase. Then really when I got home charged and tried to turn it on which was unsuccessful and on Saturday morning I tried my luck again and it turned on. Since it's for business purposes I saw that the battery power will fail me within few months and took it back to CNA in Pinecrest centre where I find a guy who happened to be very rude towards me when I explained the situation to him, he told me that I can't exchange or be refunded for this purchase. Then I show him clauses at the back of the slip which says " we will gladly exchange or refund any item if you are not completely satisfied with your purchase", then he forcibly grabbed the slip from and told me that there are terms and conditions and I told him that the clause says "cellphones, airtime and magazines may not be refunded or exchanged ", then he aggressively told me that laptop belongs under cellphone and I told him that a cellphone is not a laptop, if this clause was meant to cover laptops or any electronic devices it was suppose to say so. Then he yelled at me and told me to leave and come back to do the exchange when the person assisted with the purchase is back on Tuesday . As I left the store, I felt unworthy, stupid and treated unfairly by him. I came into a conclusion that maybe this is how CNA staff is being trained, when a customer made a purchase and want to do an exchange he or she must wait for the person who helped him or her with the purchase. Worst part of it all this guy did not have his name tag on himself so I may read his name I had to asked him to tell his name. His Name is Sthembiso. As we speak I am frustrated as I had to go to the nearest internet cafe to do some work since I'm still waiting for Tuesday to come so I may do the exchange. I would CNA to Intervene in this matter ASAP, because really I am unhappy.
Best regards,
