Bad Attitude at Bayside Mall
Hi there,
On the 13th February 2018 I went to CNA in Bayside Cape Town to purchase a phone for my son. On entering the store I went directly to the corner where the phones are displayed. A gentleman who I later learnt was Mr Thulani Ntantiso (Manager on Duty) walked pass towards the door. I then requested assistance a I wished to buy a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime + with Android 6, he told me he does not really know much about phones and requested Siphokazi Nakani to assist me. Siphokazi came to my aid. I asked her if the Samsung Grand Prime Plus was running on Android 6, she said she will go and check on the box in the storeroom. On her return she informed me that the box does not mention anything. I asked her if she could find out as she is supposed to know the product the company she works for offers. Her response was that I should google the information and that she is not the cell phone sales person. With my data up, 2 young gentleman came to my rescue and google searched the information for and confirmed that the phone was indeed running on Android 6. I then proceeded to the till point where I was welcomed by a very friend security officer who was mending the phone and the tills. I informed the security officer that I wanted to buy afore mentioned device and that Siphokazi had it, only to find out that Siphokazi had taken the phone back and moved on to her next duty as there were no customers on the sales floor. Implying that she was done assisting me about the phone as she could not provide me with the information I was looking for because is not a cell phone sales person. Thulani emerged from the storeroom venting that no one can take him for a fool he is from Uitenhage (not sure if that was directed at me). The security office indicated to Siphokazi that I wished to purchase the phone. Siphokazi collected the phone and brough it to the till point. Before taking over the sale she asked the security if she had started with process by completing a form with my details to which the security answered no. Siphokazi then took over the sale, she requested for my ID which I gave to her after taking my ID card she giggled. Thulani asked her why she is laughing at other people’s age which I found offensive as I had just issued her with my ID card. Siphokazi responded by saying she is not, she just saw her favourite customers walk in to the store. she shared some pleasantries with them while busy me and indicated to Thulani where to find the watch they had come to purchase. This is one of the worst customer service I have ever come across in my life. I am not sure if maybe it is acceptable in your stores as the store manager on duty gladly participated in the manner in which I was treated while making a purchase.
