About three weeks ago, on a Sunday, the area our business is based in had a power failure. We requested extra patrols from CMS because we have had past cable thefts at the premises. After agreeing to extra patrols we arrived at work on the Monday only to find that our transformer had been completely stripped. This process takes quite a bit of time so we can confidently assume that CMS did not enact the extra patrols they had assured us they would or the cuprits would have been caught in the act. This resulted in the business having to pay in excess of R120k to replace the entire transformer and build a cage around it, not to mention all the lost time for our production. An entire day was lost. When we requested CMS post a guard at their expense as it was their negligence which resulted in the theft, they refused. We again requested extra patrols and insisted on slips being left for each patrol as well as alarm reactions. We received only ONE patrol slip. When calling CMS control, they could only pick up one patrol. A manager was meant to investigate, two weeks later he has yet to call us back. On Monday this week, a lightning strike disabled our alarm system among other damage. We requested a quote for repair of the alarm from CMS, which was issued in good time. However, when we requested the technician to be sent upon acceptance of the quote we were told we would have to wait a week for one to come as they are fully booked. A WEEK! In the mean time if we are ****** again or our transformer is again stripped, we will be unable to claim from insurance because the alarm is not working. In this instance we requested guards be posted until the alarm is repaired. Last night the guard was meant to arrive at 6. He only arrived at 6:45. We had to call to find out where he was. They said they would call him and then call us back. We had to call them back to find out where the guard was. On top of arriving 45 minutes late, the guard told our foreman that he "knocks off at 5:40am". The guard was requested to be posted from 6pm yesterday to 6am this morning. He also arrived 45 minutes late and then has the gall to demand that we relieve him at 5:40. CMS has always given us good service, but the last two months it has been apalling! We have even tried calling the owner but it seems he doesn't care that his staff give bad service.
