CMH Volvo Pretoria - V40 dies on highway after collection from 60 000km service

On Wednesday, 11 April 2018 I booked in my Volvo V40 for its 60 000km service at the CMH Volvo Pretoria dealership. As usual, the customer service was pathetic. I must add, from the day that I bought my car from CMH Volvo Pretoria in May 2015, I have received nothing but bad, unprofessional customer service from CMH Volvo Pretoria. I was contacted via SMS at around 15h26 on Wednesday, 11 April 2018 that my car was ready for collection. When I arrived at the dealership to collect my car, I was made to wait for the consultant who was handling my cars service. Once again, totally unprofessional service by the Volvo Service Department. Eventually when the consultant came to find me, she rambled off what they did to the car and went on to inform me that my service book was at the dealership for the past two years. So that means that whoever serviced my car two years ago, did not replace my service book in my car. Another example of the pathetic service and unprofessional treatment from CMH Volvo Pretoria. On Wednesday, 11 April 2018 when I finally received my car, I left the dealership. At exactly 16h29 I placed a call to CMH Volvo Pretoria because my car was dead. This occurred while I was on the N1 heading south. The warning "break system failure" appeared on my dashboard and then the car just died. I was traveling on the N1 in pick hour traffic with trucks in front and behind me, as well as pouring rain. I managed to freewheel my car onto the verge of the highway and out of the traffic, but my car was dead. I could not use my hazards to warn other cars of my location. After calling CMH Volvo Pretoria to inform them that I was stuck on the side of the N1 highway just after leaving the dealership, they called Volvo Roadside Assist. I waited for 3 hours for the tow truck and the Volvo courtesy shuttle to arrive at my location on the highway.

The fact that my car died after I just collected it from a service at CMH Volvo Pretoria is unacceptable. Added to that, the fact that I had to wait, alone in my car without any warning signals and in torrential rain along the N1 highway for 3 hours for Volvo roadside assistance to come to my aid, is even more unacceptable. Anything could have happened to me along that highway last night. The negligence of CMH Volvo Pretoria placed my life in danger. Which begs the question, "Volvo for Life"?
