Volvo: I have lost respect for you because of your cheap services

Hello Peter

I am so disgusted with the service I am getting from Volvo or should I say the dealer. It doesn’t matter to me but the Cape Town dealer is nonsense.

My car started cutting out in Feb when I was stuck in traffic and they had to fetch it on a truck and the diagnosis was due to some outdated software and they updated it for R695. Wait, did you know that? I thought we do that with cell phones only. guess what, at collection I was stuck again that very day in traffic, and it was the same thing and it almost caused me to crash because as the car lost power my foot was on the accelerator and it came back alive with power and I almost smashed into the car in front of me.

I called them again it was late Friday afternoon and they said I should bring it back on Monday. As agreed I took the car in and thank God they took me to work, and I waited that they would come pick me up later when they were done. So, up until 17h00 I called to ask what was happening, and they said they were still busy with the car and I was shocked that they made no plans to call me and tell me that they were not coming to fetch me and that I should arrange my own transport back home, also they told me that there were two faulty relays of which they had ordered already (I wonder when were they going to call me and tell me that if I didn’t call to ask how I was getting home that evening). The next day they phoned me to tell me that they couldn’t order the parts because they needed money to do so, R8000 odd and I went to pay it that day and they said that the car would be ready in a day.

When I called to ask Thursday, they said the car would be ready on Friday. Duh, how was I supposed to know if no one calls me? Anyway, Friday I went to collect the car and 2 weeks after that on the traffic the car did the same thing again, called them and they said bring it in, and I did, that was the 24th April 2017. when I left the car it had about 3 quarters of petrol in the tank. Again I dropped the car in the morning and someone dropped me at work, and guess what, they only fetched me at work at 17h15 after I called them to ask about the car and then after driving around with me doing their personal stuff I was dropped home at about 19h00.

After being worked up because I didn’t know what was going on with my car, I called Volvo SA on Wednesday (2days later) and reported the Cape Town dealer, someone called back and said they were still busy with the car, and no diagnosis yet. During all this I have no car and they are not saying anything regarding the fact that I had no transport, that means I am using lifts to get to work and back.

Yesterday a week later, the dealer calls me to tell me that they will be putting petrol in my car and that I should be ready to refund it. Really? I phoned Volvo SA and reported that, and Volvo SA phoned them and reported back to me saying that they refund my petrol and from then they report to Volvo and that they will arrange that I get a courtesy car.

To date, I haven’t received that courtesy car yet last night at about 18h30 the branch manager called and promised that I will have a car, right now I am so mad I don’t have the energy (to go and turn that place upside down) to keep ****ing them to their daddy (Volvo).
