CMD Automotive Engineering Pathetic Service

My experience with Andrew Bouwer and CMD Automotive Engineering has been one of the worst I’ve ever had with any automotive workshop. I have spent over R42,000 on repairs that were handled with shocking incompetence, zero accountability, and absolutely no respect for me or my vehicle.

The cylinder head had to be redone three times, which is unacceptable for any workshop claiming to know what they’re doing. Even after all that money and wasted time, the car still came back twice leaking oil from the timing cover — the same issue they were supposed to fix.

To make matters worse, sensors were swapped, leaving the vehicle with warning lights that were never there before. Instead of repairing my car, they created additional problems.

Andrew also promised to send his mechanic to my premises to sort out the issues. For two days in a row, he told me they were “on their way,” yet nobody ever arrived. It became very clear these were just empty promises to keep me quiet.

His communication is terrible. Andrew is a bad communicator, constantly giving excuses, delaying, and eventually reaching the point where he completely ignored my calls. No updates, no honesty, no professionalism.

And the disrespect toward my property was unbelievable. I dropped off my vehicle clean with half a tank of fuel. It was returned to me filthy, inside and out, with only 4 km fuel range left. That alone shows the level of care they have — none.

After everything I’ve experienced, I would strongly warn anyone considering CMD Automotive Engineering to stay far away. The service was pathetic, the communication was non-existent, and the workmanship was disgraceful. They wasted my time, my money, and my trust.
