Lost eyesight because of *********** unhelpful doc

We visited Kani April 2013. I got a very bad infection in my eye. It started with a very tiny dot & unbearable pain. I immediately went to the doctor on the island, said it is an emergency as the pain was excruciating. The doc sent the nurse. He gave me some drops. Later went back to the doc as I knew something bigger was wrong, as the pain was insane. The doctor didn't really look or pay attention and just gave me more drops. 4 Days later on my return to SA the tiny dot in my eye grew to a 4mm in diameter circle. I went straight to ER and was diagnosed with acanthamoeba / pseudomonas infection (basically a bug eating away your cornea) I went to theatre for a sc**** in my eye & was off sick 3 months as this is how long it took for the wound to heal (no work, no driving, no sleeping because of pain) & a possible cornea transplant to get rid of the scar in my eye so I can see again. I only tell my story today as I am still being monitored and still not healed. I lost 50% sight in the eye. If treated sooner the dot would not have gotten so big & my sight would not have been affected & travel insurance would have paid, and our holiday would not have been ruined & gone to waste.
