Bad mannered owner and son

We went to the shop on the premises. The power was off and we were told that the generator would be started so that the till could be operational. After a while the owners son told us that:

'there is no diesel. I will go and fetch some but the shop will be closed when I get back.'

I asked him if they could phone us to come back and purchase the products when he returns as we did visit the shop in operating hours. He rep****:

'Did you not read the terms and conditions leaflet? Nowhere does it say that I have to supply any extra electricity other than the Municipal power which is off'

At this stage the owner arrived

I asked if they could do a manual calculation and let us pay in cash since the shop was cash only. The answer was :

'No we don't know the pricing off hand'

I indicated that the prices are on the products and that we had no wood or ice for the night Reply:

'you can pay for the wood and ice only but cannot take the other products'

In my opinion that was just spiteful. If you pay for accommodation you are also paying for electricity usage. We did not ask for electricity in our unit. We simply wanted to pay for products in the shop. The owner had an attitude as if he was doing us a favor by allowing us to pay him for a service.
